Vision, Mission and Programmes

Faculty Development Centre (FDC) was established in HNB Garhwal University in the academic year 2014-15 under Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT); which is a Central Sector Scheme with all India coverage according to XII Plan. The FDC provides resources and services to support the mission, vision and values for the capacity building of the faculty members. It has a vision to promote institutional effectiveness through personal, organizational and professional growth of faculty members. It has a mission to promote organizational strategies for faculty development with the peculiar improvement of teaching performance, learning outcomes, new dimensions of thinking and all-round skills etc.  It plays an important role to groom the faculties for higher educational institutions for quality teaching-learning process. It prepares the faculty to teach and learn through faculty development programmes too. The professional development activities are most effective in preparing them to teach with versatile methods. To achieve the academic objectives, following programmes are on agenda of FDC:

·         Career oriented courses as Induction, Orientation and Refresher Courses for faculty as recently guided by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. 

·         Teaching and learning programs: The lectures on recent trends of teaching-learning.

·         Workshops on methods, methodologies and research trends.
