PROFILE OF THE DEPARTMENT:

        The department of Political Science is one of the oldest and biggest departments of the faculty of social sciences of the H.N.B. Garhwal University Srinagar as presently maximum numbers of students are studying Political Science in Undergraduate and Postgraduate classes. At the Postgraduate level the students are also encouraged to take dissertation on various regional and national issues basically the field based studies are preferred. Some new important papers such as Human Right and Politics of International Financial Institutions have also seen introduced as optional papers. The Department of Political Science is a fully established Department with the necessary infrastructural facilities and the following faculty position. The faculty members have published many research papers and books in reputed journals and they also regularly participate in national and international seminars, workshops and conferences. The department has also been provided financial assistance by the UGC under the SAP –DRS I Level to conduct advance research in the field of Regional Development and Women Empowerment in the Garhwal Himalayas.
