Research and Development Cell (RDC)

The Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University's Research and Development Cell encourages and fosters a research culture among its faculty and students. The University R&D Cell's formation intends to improve and harmonize the departments' research environments with Indian educational policies. In addition to mobilizing funding and resources, the R&D Cell would foster productive research and institutional and industrial cooperation. The University adheres to the research mission set forth by the SDGs, Start-up India, and several National Missions to create an Atma-Nirbhar Bharat or self-reliant India. According to the National Education Policy 2020, high-quality research conducted at higher education institutions underpins high-quality education. Innovation and research are crucial components of higher education institutions' (HEIs') efforts to improve the quality of education. The most effective approach to address the societal issues confronting the country is to have a robust and dynamic higher education ecosystem that prioritizes technological development, innovation, and research. The cornerstone of Atma-Nirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) is the integration of research, innovation, and technological development. Moreover, helping to achieve Atma-Nirbhar Bharat's goals, the creation of the Research and Development Cell (RDC) is anticipated to be a key factor in igniting the translational, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary research culture that NEP 2020 mandates.
