The Department of Home Science was established in the year 1980 at undergraduate level. In the year 1997 courses were introduced at the post graduate level. The students study papers from the five disciplines of Home Science- Food & Nutrition, Human Development, Clothing & Textiles, Family Resource Management and Extension & Communication. The academic activities and research works done by the faculty have been published in various journals from time to time. The faculty also participates in various seminars, conferences and workshop. The department also runs D. Phil. programme.
