The Department of Information Technology was established in 2011 under the School of Engineering & Technology, Presently the department has one establishment in the Chauras campus of H. N. B. Garhwal University, Uttarakhand.

The Department of Information Technology has a vision to develop high quality research for operation and development of IT products and technology. With this vision the department has a mission to achieve high standards of teaching and academics to train skilled engineers and researchers to serve the country and society.

COURSE DETAILS

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.)

The Department of Information Technology runs a B.Tech. course in Information Technology. The syllabus of B.Tech. (IT) focuses on computer systems, computer networks and IT product design. However, students are provided with opportunities for exposure to other specialized areas such as Internet and Information Communication Technology. The objective of this course is to train the students to be employed in various industries/organization such as communication industry, software design and development, IT sector, PSUs, government organizations etc. The curriculum also equips as well as encourages the students to pursue higher education and research.
