Specialization & Research Interest
Coordination of R&D projects on biodiversity conservation and management, restoration ecology, climate change & biodiversity monitoring, medicinal plant cultivation and conservation, environmental & conservation education, transboundary cooperation, etc., in the Himalayan region.
Floristic diversity explorations/vegetation sampling/assessment along an elevation gradient in the various parts of the Himalaya.
Long-term ecological monitoring in forest ecosystems, and long-term observations in alpine ecosystems (Global Observation Research Initiative in Alpine Environments).
Spatio-temporal changes, and impacts of a native expansive and invasive species on plant biodiversity of alpine and forest ecosystems.
Ecological and economic assessment of agroecosystem, forest ecosystem, livestock production system, and their interdependencies as an ecosystem.
Restoration of waste/degraded/forests land through community participation; developed restoration/ rehabilitation models.
Agroforestry and sacred sites – their role in biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation.
